Do I need to wax my new snowboard?

Factory wax is more for protection of the board then performance on the mountain. You don't have to wax it but it makes for a much smoother ride with less friction with wax on the board. If your gonna wax it you need to hot wax it, spray on or rub on wax is gone after a few runs. hot wax stays on for several days
