What are some pros/cons of moving to Santa Paula, CA?

My husband and I are very strongly considering moving to Santa Paula, CA (from Simi Valley), and we want to hear from anyone who lives or has lived there what they have experienced living in this area. We have a toddler, so we are looking for a family-friendly area with good schools. We have also looked into Fillmore, but the "vibe" in Santa Paula seems to be more our style. Anyone have any input to share?
